For whom is Nordic VR Forum?

The Nordic VR Forum is a conference for innovators, for thought leaders, for storytellers!

It is aimed at everyone interested in new ways of learning, training and storytelling – as well as VR professionals and experts.

The main purpose is to present the development, possibilities, results and future visions of VR and AR technologies based on actual use cases.

Look forward to yet another conference with many influential attendees and top-notch projects. As an independent, non-profit event, the Nordic VR Forum is the biggest celebration in the Nordic hemisphere of the very best virtual reality has to offer right now!

The Nordic VR Forum returned for the 7th time in 2023

Last year's Nordic VR Forum showcased VR and AR applications in sectors like healthcare and gaming, drawing over 550 attendees and featuring major participants like Nvidia and Meta. The event also included the third VRINN Awards, highlighting Nordic innovation..

Welcome back to Nordic VR Forum for the 8th time!

This year, the first day is dedicated exclusive to topics related to museum, cultural heritage & XR. The 7th of November is the main conference day - open to a wide range of topics including the metaverse, AI, healthcare, training & simulation, education, gaming, and technical development within XR. The last day is dedicated to meetings and workshops.

The Nordic VR Forum Mainday November 7th will be held at Hamar kulturhus. The Museum & XR program on the 6th will be held at Anno museum. The meetings and workshop day on the 8th will be at Park Hamar.   

The city of Hamar is beautifully located in the greater Oslo Region by the shores of Mjøsa, Norways biggest lake – less than 1 hour from Oslo Airport Gardermoen and 1 hour and 15 minutes by train from Norway’s capital Oslo.

Where?

Train from Oslo and/or Gardermoen is recommended. Then walk 500 meters westwards (approx. 5 minutes) from the train station in Hamar to Hamar Kulturhus (see map).
 

Otherwise Hamar is close to the main road connecting the southern and the northern parts of Norway, E6. Arriving by car, you may park next door in the Vestre Torg P-hus or 200 meter away by the big parking space next to lake Mjøsa (“Brygga”).

How to get there?

In Hamar kulturhus the conference will use the room Kirsten Flagstad-salen on the first floor. When arriving, please pick up your name tag at the check-in counter on the ground floor.

Arriving at the conference

 By car 

The drive from Hamar Kulturhus at Torggata 100, 2317 Hamar to Anno Museum at Strandvegen 100, 2315 Hamar takes approximately 5-6 min.

By bus 

From the bus stop Stortorget you may take bus B25 in the westwards direction ("Martodden"). Get off at Strandvegen/ Vognvegen and follow the road Vognvegen 350 metres to the museum. The total travel time is roughly 15 minutes, with buses running approximately every 30 min.

Visitors to Anno Museum should note that wheelchair accessibility is limited within the facility.

How to get from Kulturhuset to Anno musuem 

Nordic VR Forum recommends Clarion Collection® Hotel Astoria. The hotel is located close to the train station in Hamar, and it is a 5 minutes walk to/from the conference venue.
